Email your questions to us about karting. We will endeavour to answer your questions here.

How can I improve my laptimes ?

Smooth is fast. If you're sliding out through the corners you are going to have slow laptimes. Using your brakes to balance the kart as you enter the corner will also improve your laptimes.

Check out the Staff Tips for the current track at the bottom of the Wall of Fame page.Click here to go to the Wall Of Fame Page.

How old do you have to be to drive a kart?

We think most kids about 9 -10 years old are beginning to demonstrate the co-ordination, awarness and common sense necessary to handle a go kart by themselves in this setting.

How safe is my child in a kart?

Junior karts have restricted power. All drivers must wear a helmet with the visor down. Our karts all have seatbelts. Our motors have heat guards. The pedals in junior karts are adjustable - and customised to each child where necessary. Every new driver has a safety induction as well as a final personalised safety check before leaving the pits.

Children are monitored closely by track staff. Staff carefully restrict and control how many other karts allowed on the track with new junior drivers. Staff can remotely control and further reduce power levels, so if a child is having trouble controlling the kart, the power is reduced to 'putt-putt' speed until the child gains confidence.

We have the highest safety standards and policies in place and your child's safety is of highest importance to us, but karting is motor racing. Anything can happen. (That's why you sign an indemnity form!)

How fast can the karts go?

The ability of our karts to reach top speed is greatly influenced by the track layout.

Our friends at the Toowoomba Police Station, have clocked our Super Karts at 71km/hr.

The Standard Karts have been clocked at about 50 km/hr.

Can I drive a Super Kart?

Yes.... once you have met the qualifying criteria. You need to check with the Track Marshals -generally you have to show via laptime reports that you can consistently drive a standard kart at a fast speed. The laptime criteria changes every time the track is changed (4 times a year).

How old do you have to be to participate in Monday or Tuesday night GP Racing?

Monday night GP Racing is open to all ages. You only need a standard kart licence to participate. We have one hot Grandma, over 60, who races in a team on Monday nights and is fast enough to consistently be on the top of the Ladies Wall of Fame! (Well done Val)

Tuesday Night Grand Prix Racing is for Young Guns. We've restricted the ages for teens 13 - 17yrs.

Junior Kart Drivers are not allowed to participate in any Grand Prix Racing.
